Yesterday I attempted to sell items on amazon. The 1st problem I had was I couldn't upload photos. So I called up customer support to see what was the problem. In the middle of that conversation I became aware amazon is a dictatorial entity catering to fascist corporations. You know those people made out of paper?
I was told if a similar product was already on their site I had to be linked to the other seller. I had to use their pictures, upc etc. They wanted to make sure that consumers had you in a list with other sellers. Well it would be fine if you could draw distinction and make the sale happen. That's kind of hard to do when the other guy is selling below your cost. That other guy could very well be the manufacturer.
That is a growing trend. Companies and especially corporations have decided they don't need salesmen anymore. They don't need dealers to push their product. They don't have to supply all these stores on consignment. Instead they can ship directly to the customer who is very comfortable with shopping online. The dot com returneth.
I did mention amazon charges even more than feebay? They want you out of the picture. Feebay will follow as they have been. Everything is becoming automated. Everything is dictated. Extortion is a new business tactic or an old one revisited.
You have to accept returns up to 30 days on amazon and 14 on feebay. The latter will raise theirs to 30 soon enough. So a person could purchase a bunch of Halloween props say on the 26th of October and receive them by the 31st. Set up have a Halloween party and then return them Nov. 1st or the 2nd if it was a really good party.
Everything is becoming centralized. That's what fascism is all about. A dictatorship. No more representation. No more individuals just wards of the state with no rights and no power. That's what amazon and feebay have become. It's all about the corporation.
Long gone is real opportunity to excel. It is all about backstabbing and cut throat business practices. I'm even suspicious of my new distributor who I suspect has a supplier themselves not named the manufacturer. I think I know who and this is deja vu all over again. It was last year I encountered this. I thought I was ordering directly through the manufacturer but it turned out the merchandise was sent by a distributor who actually labels the shipments with another's label. If they were call Acme and you were called Road Runner. Acme would place Road Runner on the shipping box. I almost signed up for that distributor too. I wonder if they were less?
amazon is no place to sell with so much cloak and daggers going on.
